Daawat World Biryani Day 2026 Campaign Features SRK
Biryani has had its own official day since 2022, and every year Daawat finds a new way to make sure you can’t miss it. This year, the premium basmati brand’s World Biryani Day celebration — observed on July 5 — is getting a serious outdoor push, with Khushi Advertising handling the on-ground execution across the country.
The Scale of It
According to the campaign rollout, Daawat’s 2026 World Biryani Day activation spans more than 20 metro cities and over 240 premium media touchpoints, covering out-of-home hoardings, mall displays, and airport media. That’s a wide net for a single-day cultural moment — the kind of footprint that puts the brand in front of commuters, shoppers, and travelers alike, all in the same week.
Shah Rukh Khan fronts the campaign, continuing a partnership between the actor and the brand that’s shown up in Daawat’s out-of-home work before. Last year, for instance, the brand ran a “Bring Out Your Finest” OOH campaign featuring Khan, with standout installations like a sequential coriander-leaf light display paired with his cutout at Mumbai’s Mahim Causeway, and anamorphic 3D creative at malls in Ghatkopar and Ahmedabad. This year’s edition builds on that same playbook — high-visibility, high-craft placements rather than a scattershot buy.

Why This Matters Beyond the Billboard
World Biryani Day isn’t a government holiday or a legacy observance — it’s a brand-built occasion, now in its fifth year, and Daawat has used it differently each time: a Guinness World Record attempt in 2023, an AI-powered cooking tie-in with Chef Sanjeev Kapoor in 2024, and this year, an AI-generated personalized video feature letting consumers digitally co-star alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
The outdoor campaign is the physical-world complement to that digital push. While the SRK video generator drives online engagement and social sharing, the 240+ OOH, mall, and airport touchpoints are doing the job of making the day feel unavoidable in real life — turning a manufactured occasion into something that looks and feels like a genuine cultural moment, largely because of how consistently and visibly it’s been staged across cities.
The Bigger Pattern
This campaign also lands alongside a separate Daawat tie-up this season — a limited-edition collaboration with Rebel Foods’ Behrouz Biryani, running digital-first activations through the same window. Taken together, it’s a reminder of how food brands are now treating awareness days less like a single ad burst and more like a coordinated, multi-week campaign spanning outdoor media, retail collaborations, influencer content, and celebrity-led digital experiences — all pointed at the same date on the calendar.
For a category as crowded as packaged basmati rice, that kind of layered, omnichannel presence around one branded “day” is increasingly how differentiation gets built — less about a single hero ad, more about being everywhere consumers already are, from the airport lounge to the mall escalator to their own phone screen.
