TikTok Expands DOOH Reach with Vistar Media Partnership, Scaling ‘Out of Phone’ Campaigns
TikTok is significantly expanding its Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) capabilities through a new partnership with Vistar Media, allowing brands to extend campaigns far beyond the mobile screen into real-world environments.
The collaboration strengthens TikTok’s “Out of Phone” offering, enabling advertisers to activate campaigns across more than one million high-impact DOOH placements. These include premium public spaces like Times Square and other high-footfall locations, creating massive visibility outside the app ecosystem.
Unlike traditional repurposing, TikTok is reimagining how content appears in physical spaces. Campaigns are being redesigned specifically for DOOH formats—adapting creative, messaging, and placement strategy to match real-world viewing behavior. This shift reflects a broader industry trend where social-first content is now built for omnichannel amplification, seamlessly connecting mobile engagement with outdoor exposure.
Originally launched in 2023, TikTok’s Out of Phone initiative started with formats like billboards, cinemas, and restaurant screens. It has since evolved to include shopping malls, airline in-flight media, and even innovative placements such as water refill stations across the U.S., pushing the boundaries of contextual advertising.
The integration of user-generated content (UGC) into DOOH formats has also unlocked more authentic and engaging brand storytelling, helping campaigns resonate in both digital feeds and physical environments.
With Vistar Media’s extensive network and programmatic capabilities, TikTok is now offering advertisers smarter targeting, broader reach, and more dynamic creative possibilities—positioning DOOH as a powerful extension of social media campaigns in today’s hybrid media landscape.
