ZetaDisplay Teams Up with Vy Group to Transform Train Travel with DOOH Innovation
In a major leap for transport media in the Nordics, ZetaDisplay has partnered with Vy Group to roll out an advanced onboard digital out-of-home (DOOH) and commerce media network across Norway’s rail system. This landmark agreement—one of the largest of its kind in the region—will see approximately 1,400 digital screens installed across 135 trains operating in both Western and Eastern Norway, including the busy Oslo region. The initiative aims to redefine the passenger journey by blending real-time travel information with engaging digital content and targeted advertising.
According to Sigurd Bay, the collaboration reflects Vy’s commitment to enhancing customer experience. The introduction of modern onboard displays will not only keep passengers better informed but also make journeys more interactive and enjoyable.
At the heart of the rollout is ZetaDisplay’s proprietary Engage Suite CMS, a powerful platform designed for seamless content management and programmatic DOOH delivery. This system will enable advertisers to run dynamic campaigns based on real-time data—such as train location—unlocking highly contextual, location-based messaging opportunities.
The onboard network also opens up a new revenue stream for Vy through commerce media, allowing brands to connect with passengers in a highly captive environment without compromising user experience.
From a technology standpoint, the installation includes specially designed 32-inch displays built for the rail environment in collaboration with Kuori. These screens are engineered to withstand vibration, temperature changes, and heavy usage, ensuring consistent performance. Features like anti-reflective glass, optical bonding, and modular components make maintenance efficient and downtime minimal.
For Ola Sæverås, this project marks a significant milestone in the company’s DOOH strategy. By integrating communication and commerce into a single, data-driven ecosystem, ZetaDisplay is pushing the boundaries of how public transport environments can be monetized and experienced.
With over 25 years of expertise in transport solutions—including projects with Flytoget, A-Train, and SJ—ZetaDisplay continues to strengthen its leadership in the DOOH and retail media space.
The rollout is already underway, with the full network expected to go live by the end of the year—setting a new benchmark for smart, connected travel experiences in Europe.
