CERA Signs Kriti Sanon as Brand Ambassador, Reimagines the Bathroom as a Wellness Retreat
Cera Sanitaryware has a new face — and a new philosophy. The bathroom solutions company has named actor Kriti Sanon as its brand ambassador and pulled the curtain back on “Your Moment of CERA,” a national campaign that pitches the bathroom not as a functional afterthought but as one of the few private spaces left in a person’s day.
A Campaign Built on a Simple Human Truth
The idea driving the campaign is straightforward: in a life full of roles — professional, social, familial — the bathroom is often the one room where none of those roles apply. It’s where people get to just be themselves.
That insight shapes the campaign film, directed by Arun Gopalan of Storyteller Films, which follows Sanon stepping away from the pressures of public life into a quieter, more personal moment. Rather than leaning on her celebrity status, the film uses her experience as a well-known public figure as a way into a feeling most people recognise — the relief of shutting a door and having a few minutes that belong only to you.
The creative was conceptualised by McCann India, part of Omnicom Advertising India, with the agency deliberately steering away from the product-first advertising that’s long defined the sanitaryware category.
Why Kriti Sanon, and Why Now
CERA’s leadership frames the pairing as a natural fit rather than a star-power play. Deepshikha Khaitan, Vice Chairperson and Joint Managing Director at Cera Sanitaryware, said the brand was excited to bring Sanon on board, pointing to her elegance and authenticity as qualities that mirror what CERA wants to stand for.
The timing also lines up with a broader shift in India’s home and lifestyle market. Consumers, especially in the premium segment, are increasingly treating bathrooms as an extension of personal style and self-care rather than purely utilitarian spaces — the same shift that’s driven demand for spa-like fittings, ambient lighting and wellness-oriented fixtures over the past few years. Rahul Jain, President–Marketing at Cera Sanitaryware, echoed this, noting that today’s consumers see bathrooms as an extension of their lifestyle and personality rather than something purely functional.
More Than a Product Push
“Your Moment of CERA” is designed to work across nearly every major media touchpoint — television, OTT, digital, cinema, print, airports, outdoor hoardings and social media — making it one of CERA’s largest integrated marketing pushes to date.
Strategically, the campaign also signals where CERA wants to take the business next. The company has been expanding well beyond core sanitaryware into faucets and wellness-focused products, and this campaign is designed to carry that positioning: CERA as a lifestyle brand first, a fittings manufacturer second. Instead of showcasing specific products, the storytelling centres on the experiences those products are meant to enable — comfort, pause and a sense of renewal.
The Bigger Trend This Taps Into
CERA’s repositioning mirrors a pattern playing out across India’s home improvement and premium lifestyle categories, where brands are increasingly selling a feeling rather than a feature list. As disposable incomes rise and renovation budgets grow, categories once seen as purely functional — bathrooms, kitchens, even utility spaces — are being marketed with the same emotional storytelling once reserved for fashion or personal care. CERA’s bet with Sanon suggests the company expects that shift to keep accelerating.
