OAAA Opens Call for Entries for the 2026 OBIE Awards
The Out of Home Advertising Association of America has officially opened submissions for the 2026 OBIE Awards, widely regarded as the highest creative recognition in the out-of-home (OOH) advertising industry. This year’s awards ceremony will take place on October 15, 2026, at the renowned Museum of Modern Art in New York City, gathering leading brands, agencies, media owners, and creative professionals from across the advertising world.
For more than eight decades, the OBIE Awards have recognized groundbreaking out-of-home campaigns that push creative boundaries. Winning work often transforms everyday environments—turning city streets into art galleries, building skylines into storytelling platforms, and public spaces into memorable brand experiences.
The 2026 edition introduces updated award categories and refined judging standards designed to reflect the evolving nature of the OOH industry. The new framework emphasizes creative thinking and cultural impact, acknowledging how modern OOH campaigns increasingly extend beyond traditional formats to influence culture and public conversation.
According to Anna Bager, the OBIE Awards highlight the powerful ideas that make out-of-home advertising unique. She noted that OOH remains one of the few true mass media channels capable of inspiring bold creativity and delivering messages at scale. When an idea resonates in the physical world, it often succeeds across every other media platform as well.
Last year’s highest honor was awarded to The Coca-Cola Company for a campaign that demonstrated how timeless creative concepts can be amplified through large-scale outdoor placements. The campaign reinforced the continued relevance of real-world brand storytelling in today’s fragmented digital media landscape.
The 2026 OBIE Awards will celebrate excellence in areas such as brand storytelling, experiential campaigns, creative craftsmanship, public service messaging, innovation, and breakthrough ideas that push the boundaries of what out-of-home advertising can achieve. As brands increasingly focus on campaigns that capture attention organically rather than interrupt audiences, OOH continues to prove its strength as a highly visible and shareable medium.
Submissions are currently open to agencies, advertisers, media owners, production partners, and creative innovators whose campaigns ran during the eligibility period. Entries will be evaluated by a respected panel of industry experts, including leading creatives, marketers, and media professionals.
