CEDIA CEO Daryl Friedman Announces Retirement Plans for 2027
CEDIA, the global association representing smart home professionals, has announced that its Global President and CEO, Daryl Friedman, plans to retire in 2027.
Friedman shared his retirement decision with the association’s Board after leading a major phase of growth and transformation for CEDIA. Since taking leadership in 2021, he has focused on strengthening the future of the smart home industry through workforce development, education, and market expansion.
During his tenure, Friedman introduced several important initiatives aimed at supporting industry professionals and attracting new talent. One of the key programs launched under his leadership was CEDIA NextGen, designed to help build the future workforce for the smart home sector. He also helped establish the CEDIA Foundation to support training and career opportunities within the industry.
In addition, Friedman created a dedicated research department to provide valuable market insights and industry data to smart home businesses worldwide. He also expanded CEDIA’s relationship with architects, builders, and designers by launching a department focused on outreach to the design-build community.
The association said these efforts have helped strengthen CEDIA’s role as a leading voice in the smart home industry while improving support for professionals across global markets.
CEDIA is expected to begin long-term succession planning as Friedman continues to lead the organization through the next phase of its strategic initiatives before his retirement in 2027.
